Overview
The Buffer calibration page allows for calibration of a buffer for Part-in-Hand programs.
This is used for program shrinking to account for abresive wear compensation.
How to Add and Calibrate
The following specifications can be defined for the buffer:
Name
A mandatory name of the specific buffer
Comment
An optional comment/note for the buffer
Width
The width of the buffer
Radius
Radius of the buffer
Type
Choose between 3 types of buffer hardness: soft, medium and hard
The frame of the buffer can be calibrated in terms of position and rotation.
Calibration of the frame can either be achieved by manual input of the values, or by using the built in wizard.
Calibrating the buffer with the wizard
To calibrate with the wizard, press "Calibrate". Follow guidelines in interface.
The calibration requires a calibration lever. The length of the lever can be specified in the interface.
In one end, the lever is attached to the buffer rod. In the other end, the lever is connected with the Tracker and Mount.
Calibration is achived by recording the the tracker moving around the buffing wheel.
To calibrate, press the record button. While recording, turn the buffer wheel in alternating directions, while making sure the Tracker does not loose line of sight.
The interface provides a preview of the frame. This can be used to validate the result.
If needed, the frame can quickly be flipped by using the "Flip Buffer" button.
When the result is confirmed, click "Finalize".
