Note that version 2.3 is not released indepdently, but has been merged into 2.4.

Specialized Deburring Features for Flat Workpieces

Mimic Core now includes specialized support for deburring flat parts, with enhanced precision and flexibility:

Tool Wear & Diameter Compensation

Mimic can now automatically adjust for differences in abrasive tool diameter - compensating for tool wear or replacement- by comparing the diameter from the original recording with the currently active tool.

Configurable Edge Angle

You can now define the desired edge angle (e.g., 15°, 30°, 45°) during editing. Mimic will then process the edge with the specified chamfer angle—crucial for meeting deburring specifications.

Additionally, functionality of more generic character has been added, also supporting deburring tasks:

  • Jog module in Edit

    A new Jog Module allows fine-grain adjustments during editing by moving the robot in specified intervals - ideal for precision tuning.

  • Edit specific points in Point-to-Point and path recordings

    Navigate and modify individual points in both Point-to-Point and Path recordings using new Next and Previous navigation buttons for quick access and control.

  • Additional 7th axis in tool for planner (Optional)

    Mimic Core 2.4 introduces the possibility of configuring the virtual rotational tool axis, used when planning a program. This is an additional 7th axis in the tool axis. Adding a 7th axis in the tool axis configuration gives the robot an extra rotational or translational movement. This enhances flexibility in complex tasks.

Pose correction with 3D Cameras

This feature allows for correcting programs to account for workpieces that are not located at the same position or orientation, as when the program was recorded.

This applied on an API level and replaces the API Function: Reference Frame Adjustment

Specialized Creator For Buffing

A new Creator has beed added. This is specifically designed for Buffing applications.

The new Buffing Creator is supported with additional settings:

  • Calibration method for the buffer

  • FT sensor

  • Part settings

Note: Designed to be compatible with additional specialized Nordbo Robotics software.
